V-lines – what are they and where are they used?

V-Line thermometers (industrial thermometers) consist of a glass capillary thermometer which is encased in either an aluminium or polypropelene housing, with the sensor bulb protected by a pocket (thermowell). The housing can be supplied in three orientations, to enable the glass column to remain upright for easy readibility regardless of how the thermometer is fitted.

These are:
• Straight
• 90˚ angle
• 135˚ angle

V-Line thermometers are primarily used in industrial applications, such as marine & heating markets. The durability and vibration-resistance of the product lends itself to these more robust end users. They are mostly used in diesel engines and turbines.
