V-lines – what are they and where are they used?

V-Line thermometers (industrial thermometers) consist of a glass capillary thermometer which is encased in either an aluminium or polypropelene housing, with the sensor bulb protected by a pocket (thermowell).

Case materials are polypropelene (up to 120C) and aluminium (up to 200C).

To effectively select a pressure gauge, you need to consider the following: Gauge range The normal operating pressure should be confined to between 25% and 75% of the scale, if process pulsation is present then the maximum operating gauge pressure should not exceed 50% of the full-scale range.
